It was in that capacity that he laid it on me: in chapter 3, in table 1, on page 52, example [1-2b] is marked with two Xs but it should in fact be marked with two check marks. Behold:
Yes, the world goes on, and we live to see another day. But this is annoying. I recommend you mark this fix in table 1. It will be corrected in the next printing.
I’d rather not make mistakes, but when I do, I want someone to find them. I’m glad that Meade, an astute fellow, had occasion to turn his gaze to table 1.
