The fifth edition of A Manual of Style for Contract Drafting recommends a layout scheme that it calls “the MSCD enumeration scheme.” It comes in “sections” and “articles” versions. To make it somewhat easier for you to apply the MSCD enumeration scheme, go here for Word a template of the “sections” version and go here for a Word template of the “articles” version.

These templates use Word styles; you can toggle between the different levels of enumeration and indenting by hitting the “Tab” key. Please note that Ken doesn’t claim to be an expert in Word styles—this will have to do until Ken is inclined to attempt something more professional!
